Eriom Veliaj

Eriom Veliaj is the mayor of Tirana, the capital city of Albania, and a prominent member of the Socialist Party. He has been in office for two terms and previously served as a minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Recently, Veliaj was arrested and accused of corruption involving the misappropriation of millions of dollars in state funds, specifically relating to the illegal allocation of budgetary resources to businesses that allegedly benefited his family financially.
