Erkebulan Kenesbekuly is the akim (mayor) of the Medeusky rural district in the Abai region of Kazakhstan. Recently, he has been in the news for launching a program aimed at encouraging residents of Semey to relocate to rural areas by offering financial support and resources to establish a more sustainable lifestyle, including housing and livestock.
