Ernest Walerius

Ernest Walerius was a prominent local politician who served as the mayor of Berdorf, Luxembourg. He played a crucial role in the development of the Aquatower, a significant landmark and water supply facility for the community. Walerius presented the concept for the tower in 2009, advocating for its dual purpose as a tourist attraction and a water reservoir. His vision and determination led to the construction of the Aquatower, which was inaugurated in 2015 and has since attracted thousands of visitors. Walerius passed away in 2023, and his contributions to the village are commemorated through a memorial plaque.
