Ernesto Barrera
Ernesto Barrera, commonly referred to as Padre Neto, was a Salvadoran priest known for his dedication to advocating for the rights of the poor and marginalized during the tumultuous period of the Salvadoran civil war. Ordained in 1976, he served in the Parroquia San Sebastián in Ciudad Delgado, where he focused on empowering workers and defending their rights against systemic injustices. Barrera was tragically murdered on November 28, 1978, alongside others, due to his commitment to social justice and his faith.
