Ernst Baerwald

Ernst Baerwald was a German industrial spy and the grandfather of David Baerwald, the author of 'The Fire Agent.' His life spanned significant historical events, including his training in espionage and chemistry in Milan before being stationed in Japan for most of his career. He notably switched his loyalties to the United States in 1933, becoming a triple agent during a tumultuous period marked by two world wars and the rise of fascism.
