Ernst Enno

Ernst Enno (1875-1934) was an influential Estonian poet known for his philosophical and introspective style. Although he published several collections of poetry, including 'Uued luuletused' (1909) and 'Hallid laulud' (1910), his work was not widely recognized during his lifetime. His poetry often faced criticism from contemporaries in the Noor-Eesti movement, particularly for its perceived weaknesses in form. Enno's legacy has been reassessed posthumously, and he is now regarded as a significant figure in Estonian literature.
