Eslene Vigilance was the matriarch of the Vigilance family, who became a central figure in a prolonged legal battle over land ownership that lasted 31 years. Despite her efforts to represent herself in court, she faced significant challenges in asserting her family's claim to the land, which was ultimately lost in a ruling by the Caribbean Court of Justice.
