Estela Ruiz Milán

Estela Ruiz Milán is a prominent Mexican psychologist and author born in Mérida in 1933. With a career spanning over six decades, she is known for her work in psychoanalysis, utilizing it as a therapeutic tool to understand the complexities of the human mind. An academic with a master's degree in Spanish Literature and a doctorate in Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, she co-founded the Society of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Mexico City and directed a Children's Theater Center of INBA. Ruiz Milán has also authored several works, including 'Cuéntame tu vida,' which explores the intersections of psychoanalysis with literature and the arts. Her insights on mental health and societal issues have made her a respected voice in discussions about violence and youth disillusionment in contemporary Mexico.
