Estrella Marroquín

Estrella Marroquín is the current director of the Dirección de Normatividad de la Pesca y Acuicultura (Dipesca) in Guatemala. She has recently been in the news for addressing the agency's failure to impose fines on tuna fishing vessels between 2021 and 2024, which violated national regulations. During a congressional meeting, she explained that the lack of enforcement was due to issues inherited from the previous administration and mentioned that the agency has begun to address these shortcomings.
