
Eugene Darrigan
Staff Sgt. Eugene Darrigan was the radio operator aboard the B-24 bomber Heaven Can Wait, which was shot down during World War II, resulting in his death and the deaths of all crew members. After an extensive recovery mission, Darrigan's remains were returned to Wappingers Falls, New York, where he was buried with military honors more than 80 years later.
