Eugènia Balcells

Eugènia Balcells, born in Barcelona in 1943, is a renowned multimedia artist known for her pioneering work in video art. After spending significant time in New York, where she developed her artistic vision influenced by the intersection of art, science, and philosophy, she gained recognition for her 1982 piece 'From The Center.' Recently, she has received numerous accolades, including the Creu de Sant Jordi, and is set to unveil her latest installation, 'Des del centre,' at the MNAC, which reinterprets her earlier work while addressing contemporary issues of perception and connectivity in a visually saturated world.
