Eugenia Wilder
Eugenia Wilder, born Eugenia Dittler in 1885, was a Jewish-orthodox matriarch from a hotelier family in Poland. She emigrated to the United States, where she worked in her uncle's jewelry business on Madison Avenue in New York. Eugenia's deep appreciation for American culture significantly influenced her sons, including renowned filmmaker Billy Wilder. She faced great adversity during World War II, as her life was tragically cut short in 1943.
