European Union Council

The European Union Council, often referred to simply as the Council, is one of the key institutions of the European Union. It represents the member states' governments and plays a crucial role in the legislative process, working alongside the European Parliament. The Council is responsible for setting the EU's overall political direction and priorities, adopting legislation, and coordinating policies among member states. It meets regularly to discuss a wide range of issues, including international relations, economic policies, and security matters. Recently, the Council has been involved in implementing restrictive measures against Belarus due to its involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.
