Evariste Ndashimiye

Evariste Ndashimiye is the President of Burundi, having assumed office in June 2020. He succeeded Pierre Nkurunziza and is a member of the ruling party, the National Council for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD-FDD). Ndashimiye's presidency has focused on national unity, security, and economic development, while also navigating the complex political landscape of Burundi. He attended the swearing-in ceremony of Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan, highlighting regional cooperation and support among East African leaders.
