Evelyn Guillén
Evelyn Guillén is a Nicaraguan political prisoner known for her activism against the government of Daniel Ortega. She was initially arrested in 2018 during anti-government protests and has since faced severe human rights abuses, including torture and inadequate medical treatment. In August 2023, she was re-arrested without clear legal justification after publicly supporting a detained bishop. Recently, the Grupo de Reflexión de Excarcelados Políticos (Grex) reported that Guillén was unable to board a plane to Guatemala due to the adverse effects of improper medication administered while in custody, raising serious concerns about her mental health and overall well-being.
