Fahima Osman

Dr. Fahima Osman is a pioneering Somali-Canadian surgeon, recognized as the first Canadian-trained doctor from Canada’s largest Somali community. Arriving in Canada as a refugee at the age of 11, she overcame significant obstacles to pursue her dream of becoming a physician. Today, at 47, she is a respected breast-cancer surgeon and an advocate for health care innovation, mentoring aspiring medical students and working to enhance patient care through improved information systems.
