
Fahri Korutürk
Fahri Korutürk was a prominent Turkish naval officer and politician who served as the 6th President of Turkey from 1973 to 1980. Born in 1903, he had a distinguished military career, rising to the rank of Vice Admiral. Korutürk played a significant role in Turkey's foreign relations during the Cold War, particularly in regard to NATO. His tenure as president was marked by political instability and the eventual military coup in 1980.
