Farhad al-Shami

Farhad al-Shami is a spokesperson for the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which has significant control over parts of northeastern Syria. He has been vocal in critiquing the political processes in Syria, particularly expressing concerns that recent elections will not lead to genuine democratic change, but rather reinforce the power of existing elites.
