
Fata Bektić
Fata Bektić was a Bosnian woman who, during the fall of Srebrenica in July 1995, lost her life while attempting to seek refuge with her family at a United Nations peacekeeping base. Her remains were discovered in June 2021, and she is set to be buried in a collective burial ceremony, marking the tragic anniversary of the genocide that claimed the lives of over 8,000 Bosniaks.
