Fatmir Peluši
Fatmir Peluši, now known as Archbishop Joan, is the newly inaugurated head of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania. Born into a Muslim family, he experienced significant religious persecution during Albania's communist regime, which banned all forms of worship. Despite this, he secretly converted to Christianity in 1979. After escaping to Italy in 1990, he continued his theological studies in Boston, ultimately leading to his election as archbishop in a ceremony attended by prominent religious and political leaders.
