Fausto Cobo

Fausto Cobo is a former director of the Centro de Inteligencia Estratégica (CIES) in Ecuador, having been appointed during the presidency of Guillermo Lasso. His tenure was marked by significant reforms in response to recommendations from the Contraloría General del Estado, resulting in the implementation of 180 out of 188 suggested changes to improve the management and oversight of the agency's operations. Cobo's leadership coincided with a period of intense scrutiny regarding the handling of intelligence assets and expenditures, particularly in light of reported losses and thefts within the agency.
