Fernand Blanchi

Fernand Blanchi was a prominent French politician and the former mayor of Valdeblore, known for his dedication to local development and community service. Born in 1947, he served as mayor for several terms beginning in 1989, actively working to improve his hometown and its surroundings, including the revitalization of the Colmiane ski resort. His contributions extended beyond Valdeblore, holding roles such as president of the Tinée community and the Mercantour National Park. Blanchi's passion for culture led to initiatives like the Folies des Lacs concert series. He passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 77, after a long battle with cancer.
