Feruza Eshmatova is an Uzbek human rights advocate, currently serving as the Ombudsman for Human Rights in Uzbekistan. She is known for her efforts to promote and protect the rights of individuals, particularly in light of concerns about prison conditions and the treatment of inmates. Recently, she was in the news for addressing allegations of torture against a prisoner in a correctional facility in Piskent, Tashkent region, where a complaint was raised regarding the unlawful treatment of an inmate by prison staff.
