Ficzere Lajos

Ficzere Lajos was a distinguished Hungarian legal scholar and public servant who served as the president of the National Election Office from December 2001 to 2006. He was also a professor emeritus at Eötvös Loránd University, where he led the Department of Administrative Law and held the position of dean at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. Ficzere was known for his significant contributions to ensuring the legality of democratic elections in Hungary, and his expertise in legal matters was widely respected. He passed away at the age of ninety in February 2023, prompting tributes from various figures, including Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who attended his funeral.
