Filipe Guerra (1948-2025) was a renowned Portuguese translator known for his extensive work translating Russian literature into Portuguese. He was celebrated for his insightful presentations and syntheses that accompanied his translations, making Russian literary works accessible to Portuguese readers. In addition to his translation work, Guerra was an almost secretive short story writer, known to a select few for his unique literary contributions. His passing on July 6, 2025, due to a prolonged illness, marked the loss of a significant figure in the promotion of Russian literature in Portugal.
