Fitzwilliam Sargent

Fitzwilliam Sargent was an American eye surgeon who, along with his wife, emigrated from Philadelphia to Europe in the mid-19th century, ultimately settling in Paris, where his son, the renowned painter John Singer Sargent, was born.
