Formoz al-Shamie

Formoz al-Shamie is the mother of Jihad al-Shamie, who was involved in a tragic attack on a synagogue in Manchester. Neighbours have described her as a strong and chatty woman who raised her three sons mostly by herself. She was noted for her kindness and hospitality when the family first moved into the area, but reports suggest that changes in her family's behaviour during the COVID-19 pandemic raised concerns among the community.
