Francesc Vendrell

Francesc Vendrell was a Spanish politician born on May 26, 1949, in Barcelona. He served as a deputy in the Catalan Parliament for the People's Party (PP) from 1999 to 2010, during which he held the position of spokesperson from 2003 to 2007. Vendrell was instrumental in the drafting of the Estatut d’Autonomia de Catalunya in 2006 and was known for his advocacy of the Catalan immersion language model. He passed away at the age of 75 in Sitges, prompting condolences from various institutions, including the International University of Valencia, which honored him with a Medal of Honor in 2019.
