Francesco Mariotti

Francesco Mariotti is a Swiss artist born in Bern in 1943, known for his innovative approach to integrating contemporary art with popular culture. He gained recognition for his participation in major art events such as Documenta 4 in Germany and the São Paulo Biennial. Mariotti's work often explores themes of nature, technology, and ecology, particularly through the use of industrial materials and light in his installations. He has had a significant impact on the Peruvian art scene since the 1970s, co-organizing influential art festivals and collaborating with various artists. His extensive archive is currently showcased in a major exhibition titled 'El pensamiento es un jardín híbrido' at the Museo de Arte de Lima and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barranco.
