Francis Lombardi was a prominent aviator known for his contributions to aviation, particularly in the early 20th century. He gained notoriety for piloting the trimotor Marchetti S 71, which was intended to facilitate the transport of postal correspondence, including special stamps during significant events, such as the celebration of King Vittorio Emanuele III's birthday in 1934.
