Francisco do Sacramento Monteiro

Francisco do Sacramento Monteiro was a notable figure in Cape Verdean history, recognized as the last morgado of Fogo. He played a pivotal role in the construction of the sobrado that now houses the Museum Municipal of São Filipe, with its construction spanning from 1884 to 1897. His legacy is preserved not only through this historical building but also through a recently discovered manuscript that details the history of his family and the edifice.
