Francisco Luis Héctor, barón de Carondelet, was an important colonial figure in Ecuador, serving as the last president of the Royal Audience of Quito. He is best known for his contributions to the architectural heritage of Quito, particularly as the namesake of the Palacio de Carondelet, which has served as the seat of government since the establishment of the Republic of Ecuador in 1830.
