His actions led to multiple convictions, including falsification of documents and usurpation of public functions. Recently, the Supreme Court of Spain reduced his prison sentence from three years and five months to two years by eliminating one of the charges, citing that his actions were more aligned with a failed attempt at fraud rather than a full usurpation of authority.
