Franklin Shoy

Franklin Shoy is a 58-year-old hotel steward who recently made headlines after pleading guilty to driving without insurance in St John’s Magistrates’ Court. On May 22, he was observed by police while stopped in the roadway, where he had approached a woman to offer her a ride. Despite his intentions, Shoy was arrested for obstructing the road and later admitted in court that his vehicle was neither licensed nor insured due to financial difficulties. He was fined $2,500 and banned from driving for 90 days.
