Fred Smit

Fred Smit, the legendary bassist of the influential proto-punk band 'Television,' passed away at the age of 77. He began his musical career with the band 'Angel and the Snake,' which later became 'Blondie.' In 1975, he joined 'Television,' replacing Richard Hell, and contributed to their unique sound until the band's breakup in 1978. Smit continued to collaborate with members of 'Television' on various solo projects and performed with bands like 'The Roches' and 'The Fleshtones.' After reuniting with 'Television' in 1992, he toured extensively with them, leaving a lasting impact on the music scene.
