Frederick Benteen

Frederick Benteen was a U.S. Army officer and cavalry commander known for his involvement in the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876. He commanded one of the battalions that survived the battle and played a pivotal role in the efforts to rescue fellow soldiers under attack. Benteen's actions during the conflict have been both criticized and praised, and he remains a controversial figure in the history of the Indian Wars.
