Frederick 'Sonic' Smith

Frederick 'Sonic' Smith was an American guitarist and songwriter best known for his work with the influential rock band MC5. Born in 1949, he became a key figure in the late 1960s and early 1970s music scene, known for his energetic performances and innovative guitar work. After MC5 disbanded, Smith shifted his focus to a more personal musical style and eventually entered a long-term partnership with musician and poet Patti Smith, with whom he shared both a creative and personal life.
