Frederick Twort

Frederick Twort was a British bacteriologist who independently discovered bacteriophages around the same time as Felix d'Hérelle. His research contributed to the understanding of how these viruses could be utilized to target and destroy specific bacterial strains, thus forming the basis for phage therapy as an alternative to antibiotics in treating bacterial infections.
