Fredrik Idestam was a Finnish mining engineer and entrepreneur who founded Nokia in 1865, originally establishing the company as a groundwood pulp mill. Under his leadership, Nokia evolved from its roots in paper and rubber production to become a significant player in telecommunications, ultimately transforming into a global mobile phone giant in the late 20th century.
