Fredy Velásquez Pérez

Fredy Velásquez Pérez is a former agent of the Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) in Guatemala, currently facing serious legal charges related to extrajudicial killings. He has been implicated in the deaths of Milton Santamaría and Eldin Leonel Choc Xi, which allegedly occurred during their detention at a police facility in San Andrés Itzapa. In January 2025, a tribunal granted him house arrest instead of preventive detention, despite opposition from the Public Ministry and the plaintiffs. Velásquez is required to use a telematic control device and is restricted to movement within his hometown of Comitancillo, San Marcos, as he awaits trial set to begin in July 2025.
