Freja Shannon is a 28-year-old Irish-Swedish climber known for her adventurous spirit and tenacity in the face of adversity. Growing up in both Ireland and Sweden, she developed a passion for climbing during a ski season in Chamonix at the age of 19. In January 2024, she suffered a severe injury while attempting a challenging climb in the North Face of Les Droites, resulting in a spinal fracture. Despite the grim prognosis and the physical and mental challenges that followed, Shannon demonstrated remarkable resilience by training diligently and returning to climbing just months after her accident.
