Frew
Frew, a former sports editor for the Northern Advocate and a distinguished athlete himself, was a New Zealand table tennis representative and a passionate advocate for junior athletes and lesser-known sports. He achieved significant success in table tennis, winning numerous national and regional titles, and was also a competitive tennis player and cricketer. In recognition of his contributions to sports in New Zealand, he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1992. Frew's vision and commitment to supporting young athletes continue to inspire the Kauri Club, which honors his legacy by investing in Northland's future sports champions.
