Friedrich Münzer

Friedrich Münzer was a distinguished German historian and expert on ancient Rome, renowned for his extensive work on Roman biographies, particularly during the Republican period. Born on April 22, 1868, in Opole, he studied under notable scholars like Theodor Mommsen and Gustav Hirschfeld. Münzer contributed significantly to the Real Encyclopedia of Antiquity, dedicating his life to researching and writing about Roman figures whose names began with the letter 'C.' Tragically, he died in the Theresienstadt ghetto in 1942, a victim of the Nazi regime.
