Friedrich Schlegel

Friedrich Schlegel was a German poet, critic, and philosopher, known as a key figure in the Romantic movement. Alongside his brother August Wilhelm, he engaged deeply with Indian culture and literature, particularly through the study of Sanskrit texts. Schlegel's work laid the foundation for the academic field of Indology and contributed to the European fascination with Eastern philosophies during the early 19th century.
