The Front of Resistance is a militant group operating in the region and is an offshoot of the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Recently, it gained notoriety for claiming responsibility for a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals and numerous injuries, further escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
