Fulco Pratesi
Fulco Pratesi, born in 1934 in Rome, was a prominent Italian environmentalist and the founder of WWF Italy. An architect by training, he dedicated his life to advocating for the protection of nature and wildlife. Pratesi was instrumental in establishing the Italian branch of the World Wildlife Fund in 1966 and served as its president multiple times. Known for his eclectic interests, he was also a journalist and a painter, passionately communicating the importance of environmental conservation through his writings and public speaking. His life was marked by a commitment to sustainability, notably his campaign against water waste. Pratesi passed away recently at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of environmental activism and a profound impact on Italian conservation efforts.
