Gabriel Medina Díaz
Gabriel Medina Díaz was a former police officer in Venezuela, connected with the Special Action Forces (FAES). He was arrested in April 2020 alongside others on accusations of planning a kidnapping of a high-ranking government official. During his time in custody, Medina's health deteriorated significantly, and he suffered from a lack of medical attention before dying in August 2021, prompting human rights groups to denounce the conditions of his detention as inhumane and arbitrary.
