Gabriel Sarmiento was a 23-year-old influencer from Venezuela known for his outspoken criticism of government corruption and ties between local police and criminal organizations, particularly the Tren de Aragua. He gained notoriety for his live broadcasts on TikTok, where he documented his experiences and allegations against law enforcement officials. Tragically, he was shot dead during a live stream where he was denouncing these ties, receiving nine gunshot wounds in an attack that shocked the online community and highlighted the dangers faced by activists in Venezuela.
