Galit Gol is a 54-year-old medical records registrar from Holon, Israel, who has recently come into the spotlight due to her personal battle with ovarian cancer. Having worked for years at Beilinson Hospital, she was accustomed to reading patients' medical files without knowing their stories. However, when she received her own cancer diagnosis after initially being deemed not a carrier of the BRCA1 gene mutation, her life took a dramatic turn. Her experience has not only impacted her but also her family, as she discovered that her genetic mutation could have endangered her sister's health. Galit has become an advocate for cancer awareness and is involved with the 'Bayit Shel Bar' organization, supporting other women facing similar challenges.
