Garnet Brownbill

Garnet Brownbill is the co-founder of the Natural Turf Alliance and an advocate against synthetic turf. He became involved in campaigning against synthetic fields after his local council installed one at Gardiner Park in Banksia, Sydney, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Brownbill has highlighted the negative impacts these fields have had on community use of the park, noting that traditional recreational activities were displaced and the park transformed into a heavily used soccer facility.
